Hiya
This is the first time I have tried using r1q2
When I launch Q2 using it  my loading screen comes up
with a full screen and at the bottom is reads

Initializing DirectInput: ok

then nothing.
I am using win98 if that makes any difference?
Any suggestions?
Thanks  smiley

r1q2 works fine in win98, so that in itself cannot be your problem.

Try eather changing your config to another name if you want to save settings or deleating it and see if that helps any.

The bad modeltype could be from a pak?

I don't think so as I don't have any extra pak files, just straight Q2 with the wod mod installed is all.

Speaking of configs:
If you try to exec a filename, which is also a name for some directory, then r1q2 crashes.
Code:
woc (file)
woc (dir)

This only occurs on Linux as for some braindead reason, Linux libc allows you to fopen() a directory. Reading from it will always fail.

Ah I tried to get in r1q2 as single player and that happens to me too. Is that what you are doing single player?

Everything in a *nix OS is treated as a file...

Linus trashed his hard-drive in the early days when making a fubar writing to a device that wasn't...
