I have read on other message boards that this client supports widescreen resolutions.  I am trying to run Q2 at 1920 x 1200.  What do I need to change in my config?  Thanks!

http://r-1.ch/q2config.php?type=r1gl

edit: Aw boo.. these variables aren't in there, probably because they can be dangerous if used wrong. Read the R1GL readme, and find what vid_forcewidth / vid_forceheight do Smiley

I can't seem to find the readme for it.  I downloaded the zip but there was not a readme in it.  TIA for any help.

Okay, I am using the client now and have the resolution fixed to 1920 x 1200.  When I first launch Q2, it is is windowed mode.  If I got to video, toggle to the R1Q2 rendering option, it goes to full screen and my fixed resolution of 1920 x 1200.  How do I get it to automatically go there at launch?  Below is what I added to my config:

gl_mode -1
vid_forcewidth 1920
vid_forceheight 1200

Am I missing something?

put in your config
Code:
vid_ref r1gl
gl_mode -1
vid_forcewidth 1920
vid_forceheight 1200
vid_fullscreen 1
and don't forget to exec your config when you run r1q2..

Hi
set vid_fullscreen "1" does not work for me and r1q2 stays windowed
Browsing to the Video menu and highlighting the r1gl options crashes everytime:

A minidump was saved to C:\quake2\R1Q2CrashLog2007-04-28_1.dmp.gz.
Please include this file when posting a crash report.

Previously with this version of r1q2 I have had some random hard lockups - no crash dumps - these are the first crashes I have had with r1q2 since I started using it last year.

Thanks

Hi
set gl_mode "-1" sucks should be set gl_mode "0"
no more crashes - sorry for the time wasting

gl_mode "0" is 320x240...
gl_mode "-1" is used for custom resolution (along with vid_forcewidth and vid_forceheight) and if your monitor doesn't support such a resolution you can't run it in fullscreen.

gl_mode -1 is invalid value. vid_forcewidth / vid_forceheight take precedence regardless of the gl_mode setting. I will fix the next version of R1Q2 so it doesn't crash on the invalid gl_mode value.
