i would like to know how to :
make r1q2 play the regular id video and start up like regular quake 2 instead of going right to the console (i'd rather have it start at the main menu, so if the videos are impossible, i want it to start at the main menu).

and also, it seems that r1q2 is having problems loading games that it saved.  it can load the saved games from regular quake 2, but when it tries to load games that it saved itself, it drops to the console and says "Couldn't load maps/.bsp." so i think that it is having issues with creating save files. is there a fix for that?  Thanks.

Add menu_main to the end of your baseq2/postinit.cfg (might work in autoexec too). Save games are a low priority right now but I'll take a look before the next release.

oh, and one more thing: what i really wanted to do with this mod is just play regular quake 2 with 1280x1024 resolution.  do you know of a way to just get regular quake 2 to run at 1280x1024?  is it possible to just use the part of your mod that can force 1280x1024 resolution? thanks again. i just  think it's kind of strange that GLquake can run at so many more resolutions than quake 2.

I believe 1280x1024 is available in the video menu, if not, you'll need to use R1GL and set vid_forcewidth / vid_forceheight.

thanks a ton, man. R1GL is EXACTLY what i needed.  just one more question: are videos supported with the R1GL mod?  i hear the sound, but i see no movie. is it because i set it to 1280x1024? other than that, everything works perfectly.
