I setup a download server and it is downloading fine on my laptop (xp). But when I try to download a map on my windows 7 box I get the following error:

Do you have any idea why the download feature works in xp but not windows 7.

I tried to remove the read-only attribute on the quake2 folder, I am also running the client in win2k mode w/ administrator priv. I also made my domain account the owner of the quake2 folder and subdirectories and also gave myself full control.

check if the cvars allow_download and allow_download_maps are set to 1 (@client)
also, check the windows 7 firewall, it's much more complex than XP's... you could disable it temporarily, for a quick test
